Aloha! I am Dr. Amy Harpstrite and welcome to my pediatric practice. We are located in the heart of Kailua, in Kailua Professional Building 1.
We offer the full range of pediatric care. We focus is on promoting healthy, active lifestyles and preventive care. We are also well-trained to address acute issues.
We provide services for newborns at Castle Adventist Health Birth Center and communicate with Pediatric Specialists and Hospital Staff at Kapiolani.
Services
Preventative Care
Routine well-visits. Your child is measured, and we discuss how your family and your child are doing. We are looking for concerns that we can address and offer suggestions to help, while supporting your strengths. We discuss issues such as feeding, sleep, development, safety, and coping well. We offer anticipatory guidance about what to expect until we next see you. Routine vaccines are also discussed.
We follow the American Association of Pediatrics current recommendation for newborn check-ups:
- 2-3 days
- 2 weeks
- 1 month
- 2 months
- 4 months
- 6 months
- 9 months
- 12 months
- 15 months
- 18 months
- 2 years
- 30 months
- Annually
Acute Care
We welcome questions that arise in-between checkups. You are encouraged to call the office or email. Photos of rashes, for example, can often be easily addressed via email. Dr. Amy routinely checks the office email after hours and on weekends.
We reserve time in the day to see patients for urgent issues.
We have Physicians Exchange for emergencies if you need help deciding whether to go to the ER.
